Dear Neighbor,
As you likely know, there are several projects our town is engaged in, all under the auspices of land use. Be it considerations for the business district, repurposing and updating our existing buildings, or opportunities for the former Country Club of Woodbridge (the “CCW”), a considerable number of projects are being vetted that will shape the near and longer-term future of our town. On a parallel track, updates are being made to our Town Plan of Conservation and Development (the “POCD”) and zoning regulations. While consultants and our various Boards and Commissions are engaged and reviewing information, including the recent survey results, we’d like to offer background information and key updates for you throughout this process. Residents will have the opportunity to offer their comments in specific forums, and critical decisions should go to referendum, so we want you to keep you informed.
As demonstrated in the latest town publication, our First Selectman is keen on growth, both
commercial and residential. Understanding these growth initiatives and harmonizing them with, for example, existing school capacity constraints (amongst other things), will be key. As such, I encourage all to be active in understanding and discussing land use related topics so we can inform town leadership our best ideas and strategies. Over time, key decisions and projects in Woodbridge may change in focus, and this newsletter may modify its scope and information sharing accordingly. At all times, this newsletter will seek to be objective and fact-driven.
Should you have any ideas or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. If you believe someone may be interested in receiving this newsletter, please share or let us know and we can update our distribution. Similarly, should you wish to be removed from our distribution list, kindly let us know (email separately: wrtcchairman@gmail.com) and we will remove you.
Thank you for your time, and be well.
